Sports Facilities

Tsinghua University has a good reputation for student sporting. The slogan of "work in health for 50 years" is a great urge for each student. Various sports facilities are provided on campus, which include: the indoor swimming and diving gymnasium, the West Lake outdoor swimming pool, the comprehensive gymnasium (badminton, table tennis, basketball, and gymnastics), the West gymnasium (badminton, basketball, volleyball, and billiards), the West Sports Field, the East Sports Field, and Zijing Sports Complex (basketball, tennis, volleyball, and soccer)

The West Sports Field

The west sports field is called briefly as “Xi Cao”. It is equipped with a standard ring like track and football field. It is a comprehensive stadium for track and field.

The East Sports Field

The east sports field is called briefly as “Dong Cao”. It is equipped with a standard ring like track and a grassy football field. It is a comprehensive stadium for track and field. Many free basketball courts and volleyball courts are located to its western side and northern side.

The Sports Ground in front of Zijing

It located on the southern side of the dorm buildings. You can enjoy basketball courts, tennis, courts, football field and tracks for running.

The Swimming Hall (Also for diving)

It is one of the most modern facilities for sports in the campus. It is equipped with the standard swimming lanes, diving boards, diving platforms and the installation of the shower.

The Swimming Pool in the Western Area
It locates near the West Gate. It’s the single outdoor swimming pool in the campus. The price is actually low.

The Comprehensive Gymnasium

It is called briefly as “Zong Ti”. The service of badminton, basketball, volleyball, gym, body-building, table tennis and fencing is available. As a result of it, the price there is a bit high. There are a lot of cement-floor-courts for tennis around the sports center. Except the weekends, it’s free.

The Gymnasium of the West Sports Field

It is on the west side of the west sports field. The service of badminton, basketball and volleyball is available and the price is reasonable.
